Biografisches

Judith Trepp wurde 1941 in New York geboren. Sie besuchte die Syracuse University und anschliessend das Bard College.
Ihre Arbeiten sind ruhig und dennoch expressiv. Linien sind der Gegenpol zur intellektuellen Geometrie und diese Gegensaetze bringen einen subtilen Dialog in ihr Werk.

Judith Trepp ist seit 1970 in der Schweiz, macht von hier auch Reisen nach Japan, Indien etc.
Heute lebt die Kuenstlerin in Zuerich und in Provincetown, MA, USA.

Sie selbst bezeichnet ihre Arbeit als "Expressiven Minimalismus"

Biography

Judith Trepp was born in NYC in 1941. She attended Syracuse University and Bard College. Trepp was one of the first residents of Westbeth, federally sponsered artists' housing in NYC. Since 1970 she has been based in Switzerland, and during the past 15 years has traveled extensively in India and Japan. Today Trepp lives and works in Zurich,Switzerland and Provincetown, Ma., USA.

"Expressive Minimalism" is the phrase Judith Trepp has created to characterize her paintings and works on paper.
